The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) is an organization for cancer physicians to collaborate, share research, and improve the lives of people with cancer. With over 40,000 members, ASCO has played an integral role in the increased cancer research over the past half-century. They provide training and education for both doctors and patients and have been at the forefront of the development of new cancer treatments.
ASCO’s primary website was in need of a refresh. They came to us with a brand new, state-of-the-art website design and needed additional staff and expertise to implement their Photoshop mockups into Drupal 7. We delivered.
ASCO.org is a massive website. With thousands of pages, articles, blog posts, events, and reports, we helped them take their visual design and develop it into a custom Drupal theme with templates that can accommodate this wide array of content. Coffey Machine Media played a leading role in developing the baseline code and architecture of the Drupal theme, and guided development of several of the website’s key interactive features including the mega menu, State of Cancer Care reports, sliders, tiles, and more—all optimized for the full array of viewing devices, laptops, tablets and smartphones.
Receiving over half a million page views each month, ASCO.org has become the standard by which the Society judges their portfolio of web properties. ASCO was able to adapt several pieces of the code developed for this website for reuse on their other projects.
