IE 8 is great for development
If you are still using IE 7 to test your websites in, stop. Do yourself a favor and upgrade to IE 8.
IE 8 comes with developer tools built right in that let you debug CSS and JavaScript in the style of Firebug. It has a menu to let you switch rendering modes from IE 7 to IE 8, and also includes several other useful features including a ruler, the ability to disable styles, scripts, and images, outline DOM elements, set breakpoints in scripts and much more.
To access the developer tools in IE 8 go to the tools drop-down menu and select Developer Tools, or just hit F12 like with Firebug.
Several people have blogged about this already, but I have been surprised that more than one of my web design colleagues was not aware of this.
